Ben Asiago Moywaywa

Mr. Ben Asiago joined Meru University as a graduate assistant in September 2014. He held that position till September 2019, when he was promoted to a Tutorial Fellow, which is his current position.
Mr. Ben Asiago served in the committee that provided a roadmap for the formation of the School of engineering and Architecture in 2016. He was later appointed as the acting head of the electrical Engineering Department between 2016 and 2018. He has also served as the head of the Mechanical and Mechatronic engineering Department since October 2020 to date.
In September 2012, he was employed as a Graduate Sales Engineer at Davis & Shirtliff. He left the company in November 2012, after winning a scholarship to study MSc. Nuclear Science under the joint sponsorship of Ministry of Energy, and the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, University of Nairobi. He also worked as an attachee at Nampak (K) Limited, Thika in 2010 and Superfoam Limited, Ruiru in 2009.
He is currently pursuing PhD Mechanical Engineering at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology specializing in Renewable Energy. He is a holder a Masters degree in Nuclear Science having graduated from the University of Nairobi in September 2018, and a bachelor’s degree in BSc. Mechanical Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (2011).
His main research interests are in renewable energy systems including solar solar and wind energy as well as the application of Nuclear techniques. He also has further research interest in Materials and metallurgy.
