Dr Dorothy has a BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences (KEMU), a Master of Science in Molecular Medicine (Institute for Tropical Medicine JKUAT, and PhD in Molecular Medicine (MUST). Dorothy id the current Chairperson for the department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at Meru University of Science and Technology. She has worked in different renown organization within the country where she has gained remarkable experiences in current trends in diseases diagnosis. Among the organizations that have grown her expertise are Kenya Medical Research Institute, Centre for Microbiology research, welcome trust laboratories where she worked from the year 2002 to 2006, that was before moving to the Aga khan University hospital Pathology department from the year 2007 to 2008. Towards the end of the year 2008 Dorothy moved to Kenya Methodist University where she worked until January 2012. She then moved to Meru University of Science and Technology where she has worked to date. She is highly knowledgeable in areas of one health, microbiological analysis and molecular disease diagnosis and has participated in both National and international research collaborations.
