Dr. Grace Muthuri

Dr. Grace Gakii Muthuri is a lecturer in the department of mathematics, at Meru University of Science and Technology, and also serves as the coordinator in the directorate of Quality Assurance and Career Services. She is also Deputy editor of the university journal. She has successfully supervised two master’s students in applied mathematics and three students in masters in sanitation. She is very hard-working and persistent in what she does. She believes in an honest and just world and hopes to achieve this in life. She is a Ph.D. holder in applied mathematics and a graduate of Kenyatta University. Her Ph.D. research was based on mathematical modelling using ordinary differential equations. In particular, she modelled the effects of alcohol treatment by incorporating mass media campaigns. With help of other lecturers in the department, she has developed a Ph.D. curriculum, which is awaiting approval by CUE. Presently, she is supervising two master’s students and 2 PhD students in applied mathematics.
