Dr. Lukas Mogaka

Dr. Eng. Lucas Ongondo Mogaka is an accomplished Electrical Power Systems Engineer, senior academic administrator, and researcher with over fifteen years of progressive experience in university teaching, postgraduate supervision, curriculum development, applied research, and infrastructure and capacity-building initiatives. He currently serves as Dean, School of Engineering and Architecture at Meru University of Science and Technology, where he provides strategic leadership in academic governance, research development, and institutional growth.
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering (PAUSTI), an MSc in Electrical Engineering (JKUAT), and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Communication Engineering (Moi University). A Registered Professional Engineer with EBK, Corporate Member of IEK, and Licensed Class B Electrician with EPRA, his expertise spans renewable energy integration, microgrids and smart grids, energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging, power system stability, and advanced optimization and AI-based techniques. He has supervised and examined postgraduate research at MSc and PhD levels, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and led major curriculum development and laboratory modernization programs, contributing meaningfully to the advancement of engineering education, research, and professional practice.
