Geoffrey Barongo Omosa is an accomplished and dynamic individual who has carved a remarkable path in the field of Mechanical Engineering. With a dedication to academic excellence and a commitment to advancing innovative research, he stands as a beacon of expertise and professionalism.
Geoffrey embarked on his journey in education at Intundero Primary School, where his thirst for knowledge was ignited. He then pursued his secondary education at Nyamagwa Boys’ High School, achieving an outstanding mean grade of B+ in his KCSE examinations. This academic prowess paved the way for his pursuit of higher learning.
With an unwavering passion for Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Geoffrey earned his Bachelor’s degree from Egerton University. This academic venture marked the foundation of his journey into the realms of engineering and innovation. His insatiable appetite for knowledge led him to further his education with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India, honing his expertise in the intricacies of the field.
Continuing his academic pursuits, Geoffrey is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Johannesburg, a testament to his commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and contributing to cutting-edge research.
Throughout his academic journey, Geoffrey’s dedication to the field of engineering extended beyond the classroom. He has undertaken additional professional training, obtaining certificates in Numerical Machining Complex (NMC) and Production Management Systems (Kaizen & 5S) from esteemed institutions. These certifications have enriched his skill set, adding depth to his expertise.
Geoffrey’s academic and professional achievements are not confined to his training alone. His research interests encompass advanced manufacturing, nanotechnology, surface engineering, micro-sensors, thin film coating, Microfluidic and BioMEMS fabrication, Production & Operations Management, Decision theory, and optimization techniques. His profound contributions are evident in his publications, where he delves into topics such as end-of-life vehicle recycling and sustainable supply chain management. His articles, including those published in reputable journals like Sustainability, reflect his commitment to addressing global challenges through research.
Beyond his academic and research accomplishments, Geoffrey is an active member of various professional bodies. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Kenya (IEK), a registered member Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), and a Member of the Institution of Engineering Technologists (IET).
