Mr. Jackson Kimathi

Adjunct Lecturer

I am an adjunct lecturer of Kiswahili at the Meru University of Science and Technology. I am a Kenyan citizen aged 46 years. I am a graduate of Kenyatta University where I pursued my master of Arts degree in Kiswahili phonetics and phonology where I graduated in 2013. I did my undergraduate studies in the same University where i pursued a degree in Kiswahili and Religious studies and graduated with a second class honors upper division in the year 2002.

Before joining Meru University, I have been teaching on part-time basis at Chuka University for the last seven years, where i handled students up to masters level. I have also taught shortly for Presbyterian University. I am also employed by the Teachers service Commission where i have taught Kiswahili at secondary school level for the last 16 years. As a teacher i have also served as a student counselor for many years and still currently the head of department of guidance and counseling in our school.

Apart from teaching I am currently the president of the Gideons International Maua Camp where I coordinate the distribution of bibles to students and other areas. I have also been the circuit steward of Maua Methodist Church. I am also a National Executive official member of the Ameru professionals’ forum.

I have written a book on history titled “History and Government Reconstructed” for form one to four which is unpublished. It basically covers KCSE syllabus. I wrote masters thesis on the History of the informal Sector in Eldoret 1908-2009 published by Moi University in 2017
