Ms. Fridah Kainyu Micheni 

Lecturer

Fridah Kainyu is a Technologist in the Department of Information Technology, School of Computing and Informatics at Meru University of Science and Technology. She is a dedicated Information Technology professional with a strong background in teaching, programme coordination, and student mentorship.

At the university, Fridah trains, supervises, examines, and supports students in the Certificate and Diploma in Information Technology programmes. She also serves as the Departmental Attachment Coordinator and has previously held the position of Examinations Coordinator. Her teaching expertise covers areas such as Management Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Database Management Systems, and Computer Programming.

Fridah is a certified Trainer of Trainers (ToT) in Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) and an accredited Industrial Trainer with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and a Master’s degree in Information Technology from Meru University of Science and Technology. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Technology at Meru University of Science and Technology. Her research interests include Information Systems, Data Mining, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Beyond academics, Fridah is actively involved in community service. She has participated in initiatives such as the Mater Heart Run and is a member of the Kenya Red Cross Society.

Outside her professional work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, cooking, and listening to music.
