Mbugua Samuel Ndere

Tutorial Fellow
Samuel Ndere is a tutorial fellow at the School of Nursing, Meru University of Science and Technology. He is a Paediatric Nurse specialist. He obtained a degree of Master of science in Nursing (Paediatrics) degree at the University of Nairobi and a degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Moi University. He desires to contribute to the nursing profession in Kenya and beyond through teaching and training of nursing students at undergraduate and graduate level and conducting clinical research in Paediatric Nursing. Samuel teaches Paediatric Nursing and midwifery to undergraduate students. He also teaches emergency nursing, an area he finds very relevant and adds to his learning in caring for sick and ill children. Samuel is passionate about high quality nursing care among the paediatric population, and more so enhancing child survival and promoting health for neonates and infants. He is currently pursuing PhD at Jomo Kenyatta University of Sceince and Technology. Samuel has a cumulative hands-on clinical experience spanning more than 10 years. He has mentored nursing students as a graduate for over 15 years. Previously, Samuel worked as a nurse clinician at Garissa County Referral Hospital in the paediatric and medical departments. He oversaw nursing care as a deputy paediatric ward and medical ward nursing officer in-charge at Garissa County Referral Hospital during his tenure there. While there, he also worked as a clinical instructor within the hospital. Alongside clinical practice, he worked as a part-time lecturer at Kenya Medical Training College, Garissa, instructing students pursing certificate and diploma in nursing
